Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

Good Morning!

Clear, crisp and shaping up to be a wonderful day here at Mt. Bachelor! We start Wednesday under clear skies and temperatures in the teens with an impressive outlook for the day ahead. The forecast is calling for mostly clear skies all day with temps warming into the mid 30’s by the afternoon and light winds! It will be a midweeker’s delight today and the snow surface will start fast and firm on fresh corduroy with a likely softening to happen by the afternoon. It’s looking like today will be the last clear and calm day this week – you don’t want to miss your chance for some comfortable carving on the slopes!

Curious about Summit?  Well, unfortunately, last week’s ice storm caused extensive damage to Summit lift’s communications line. A multi-day repair effort is underway and we’ve created a special web page to keep you informed about the lift’s status:

Summit Lift Repair Update

Reminder: With daytime temps reaching above freezing, trees have the possibility to shed snow and ice that has accumulated from the previous storms. We recommend staying on groomed runs, but if you do choose to off piste, please use caution and always be aware of hazards that may be overhead.

Drive safe and see ya on the slopes!

Conditions Report: Monday, February 10th 2020, 5:55 am

Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

Good Morning!

It’s going to be another beautiful blues skies day up at Mt. Bachelor and it rings true when sno cats can be seen grooming the slopes from down in town with a full moon in the background! Monday temperatures beginning in the mid 20’s and are anticipated to rise into the low 30’s by the afternoon. Winds are expected to begin in the moderate range this morning and decrease as the day goes on. So get here early to take a lap off the cone in the moonlight or in the alpenglow that will come with another beautiful Central Oregon sunrise!

With a beautiful break in the storms, Lift Maintenance was finally able to get eyes on Summit since the latest storm. In doing so, it quickly became apparent that like the rest of the lifts, Summit was not able to escape Mother Nature’s wrath. Even worse, she chose to hit Summit the hardest. Utilizing the bluebird conditions today, Lift Maintenance was able to fully clean the rope line and cables. The next step in the process is clearing all the towers of ice accumulations that total more than a foot and repairing any damage that may have occurred. Sunny days are forecast for the next few days which will aid in Summit’s progress by giving us favorable working conditions and will slowly melt the ice. Even with the sunny assistance, Summit will still need few more days of work before it can safely open up.  Additional updates to come as further progress in made on Summit.

Drive safe and see ya on the slopes!

Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

Good Morning!

The light from the full moon combining with the illumination from the sno cats prepping the slopes creates a beautiful scene on this cold and crisp Sunday!  A thin veil of mid mountain clouds is currently hanging around, but we anticipate that they will burn off once the Sun makes its presence! Mostly sunny to entirely sunny skies is expected for today’s laps. Temperatures will start out in the mid-teens and should top out in the low 20’s this afternoon. Winds are starting out light but could rise into the moderate range as the day goes along. So finish packing the sunny day kit and come on up. It’s shaping up to be an absolute stunner of a day!

Mt. Bachelor is proud to be hosting several epic events across the resort this today!

Woodward Peace Park Grand Opening from 10-2pm. Cruise on by to meet the park crew, grab some swag and take some Peace Park laps.
Local’s Only party is at the bottom of Skyliner lift with Egan’s Outpost serving up unique food/beverages options and keeping the good vibes flowing.
In the Woodward Performance Venue under Pine Marten chairlift Central OR USASA will be hosting Slopestyle #2.

After much hard work from our incredible MTB Woodward Parks crews, we are happy to announce that Woodward 22 foot Halfpipe is now open!

Drive safe and see ya on the slopes!

Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

Woohoo! 4” of slope refreshing snow has fallen overnight and couldn’t have had better timing! The first laps of the weekend are expected to be filled with snow as the forecast calls for snowfall to continue through the morning and into the afternoon turns. Temperatures will be chilling in the mid 20’s and winds can be expected to be moderate with some strong gusts. There is a little more work that is needed to be done on a few of the auxiliary lifts (Cloudchaser, Outback and Northwest) so a few delayed opening are possible this morning. If you happen to see any Mountain Operations crews out this morning, given a high five- the hard work that they have done over the last few days and results from it have been nothing short of extraordinary!

We hope you’re making plans to join us this weekend, as we celebrate the opening of the Woodward Peace Park and our 22′ Halfpipe today, followed by a Local’s Only party presented by 10 Barrel Brewing on Sunday at the bottom of Skyliner lift.

We will have VIP carpool parking going on this morning in the West Village Lot for the first 100 cars with 4+ people!

Drive safe and see ya on the slopes!

Conditions Report: Friday, February 7th 2020, 6:08 am

Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

Good Morning & Happy Friday.

We stayed in a warm and wet pattern overnight and are seeing a mix of slushy snow and icy conditions this morning. Lift Operations will be effected again today with opening delays expected for several lifts as additional icing has occurred on chairlifts and towers.

It is no easy task to break ice free from every chair and tower before being able to get lifts spinning and safely access the mountain terrain. Our Operation Teams are hard at work, doing everything they can to provide a safe and enjoyable experience up here at Mt. Bachelor. Mother Nature really handed us a doozy over the last 48 hours and it will take a little time to get fully operational again.

Temperatures on Friday are expected to warm into the mid 30’s which could help in releasing ice on chairlifts and towers. We are anticipating moderate winds with strong gusts likely at times. The snow surface will be variable and we highly recommend staying on groomed terrain today.

The good news is that the weekend conditions are forecast to be much improved. New snow on Saturday should erase the ice and Sunday is forecast to be a beautiful, sunny day. We hope you’re making plans to join us this weekend, as we celebrate the opening of the Woodward Peace Park and our 22′ Halfpipe on Saturday, followed by a Local’s Only party presented by 10 Barrel Brewing on Sunday at the bottom of Skyliner lift. And it’s all preceded by an Apres Ski Bash at The Commons in downtown Bend Friday night.

Drive safe and see ya on the slopes!

Conditions Report: Thursday, February 6th 2020, 6:18 am

Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

As we have seen so far this winter, the storms that roll in can delivered us splendid snow–but also have the possibility to give us a wetter variety other times. Overnight, temps warmed just enough were freezing rain fell around mid-mountain and thawed into rain as it came to the base areas. The forecast has us in this unpredictable pattern today, so falling out of the sky may be snow or mixed precipitation. Temperatures will hover around freezing all day and winds are expected to be moderate with occasional strong gusts. Grooming teams continue to work feverishly this morning in combating the changing slopes conditions and are determined to provide us with the best runs given the weather. Lift Maintenance crews are currently battling lifts that have been iced up by the storm and are working diligently on getting them ready for them to safely spin today. Due to the weather conditions, certain lift operations may be affected so check back on our conditions page to stay up to date on conditions and lift status.

Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

Good Morning!

We are seeing light snowfall and stormy skies to start Wednesday morning off. The snow stake picked up about 1” of fresh snow overnight but moderate winds have certainly loaded more snow in some areas while scouring others. The forecast for Wednesday is calling for mostly cloudy skies with snow at times and moderate to strong winds – it’s going to be a bit stormy out! Temps are expected to be warmer today than the last few days with a daytime high in the mid 30’s likely. Bundle up, opt for the low light lenses and come find some fresh laps to get you over the hump this week!

Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

Good Morning!

No new snow to report from last night. As we head into Tuesday morning we are seeing crisp and clear skies up here at Mt. Bachelor. Temperatures dropped below zero overnight and still remain there at the base area. The forecast is calling for the day to be about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday with a daytime high expected to reach the upper 20’s and light to moderate winds. Today’s snow surface should be enjoyable with an extensive network of fresh corduroy easily found around the mountain thanks to our overnight grooming team! It’s likely we will see the sun for some of today’s turns so grab your dark lenses and come on up for a good time ripping around!
