Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
A dusting of snow measuring an inch fell onto the slopes overnight and with the help of the snow groomers have created some immaculate groomers to carve up this weekend! The forecast for Saturday has expected snowfall to throw more snowflakes at the slopes through most of the day. Moderate winds are anticipated to continue to persist through this light storm, so drifty snow accumulation are likely. Temperatures have dropped back into the winter seasonal range and will be in the low to mid 20’s during today’s laps. So with a fresh shot of snow to refresh the slopes, come spend the extra calendar day ripping some fresh corduroy up at Mt. Bachelor!
Play Forever Carpool Parking: Vehicles with 4+ passengers receives preferential VIP parking in designated spots in the West Village Lot.
The weekend is chock full of epic events to either participate in or watch! First up is Vertfest Mt. Bachelor, which featuring a legendary Skimo (ski mountaineering) race that showcases racers uphill and backcountry skills. Additionally, a vendor village & Egan’s Outpost will be located near the base of Red Chair. USASA halfpipe event in our Woodward Performance Venue will be going on today, so come check out the athletes stomp some gnarly runs in the 22′ halfpipe. Then on Sunday we will be hosting a USASA rail jam event at the bottom of Pine Marten lift.
Rainbow lift had a part go down on Thursday and it will be CLOSED this weekend. The work required for it to properly and safely resume operation could take a week or more. We will update the conditions page as we have progress updates. In the meantime, Otter Rock will stay OPEN but this comes with a reminder that if you ski/ride to the bottom of the park a short hike out will be required.
Drive safe and we look forward to seeing you soon!
