Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Just when we thought the storm was over, we had two more inches of snow waiting for us at the mountain this morning! Sunday’s forecast shows a slight chance for snow showers early in the day, but expect precipitation to clear for the afternoon. Winds will be light to moderate with temperatures staying in the 20s. Get up to Mt. Bachelor and get your Sunday shred on!
Please remember to drive safely and courteously on your way to and from the mountain! Our wonderful little city begins just after the National Forest ends, and there are many homes along Century Drive. Help us be a good neighbor and slow down, share the road, and be courteous to those pulling out of neighborhoods, especially in these areas.
With new low density snow comes a reminder and a responsibility to understand tree well and snow immersion hazards. Please get caught up on good safety practices and always ski or ride with a buddy in eyesight if you are headed off-trail.
As we have received some much needed new snow in the last week, preparation and construction of our halfpipe is now commencing! With snowcats working hard to build the new feature, the area being used to construct the halfpipe will be roped off and closed to the public. It is very important to your safety to avoid this closed area, as the snowcat operators will not be able to see you while building our halfpipe. Skiers and riders who enter closed areas may be subject to pass restrictions and further penalties.
