Good morning early birds! Overnight we received an inch of new snow, bringing the winter storm total to a cool 17 inches in the last 3 days! This morning we are forecast to have partly cloudy skies with the chance of it clearing out, cool temps and moderate winds. So get up here early and come enjoy what is shaping up to be another great day on the slopes!
With new snow comes a reminder and a responsibility to understand tree well and snow immersion hazards hazards. Please get caught up on good safety practices and always ski or ride with a buddy in eyesight if you are headed off-trail.
NOTE: When winter storms deliver us new snow to enjoy, it can all bring the necessity of chains and/or traction tires to be used in order to safely make it up to the mountain. For the safety of all drivers on the road, make sure to use the proper chain up areas when installing chains, as using non-designated areas can lead to numerous hazards for not only you but other drivers on the road.
It’s a holiday weekend, so expect it to be busy throughout our base areas. Take a look at these helpful tips & tricks, especially if you’re new to Mt. Bachelor or haven’t visited in a while. Drive safely and patiently and enjoy a fun Sunday in the fresh snow!
