Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
HAPPY 60TH ANNIVERSARY MT. BACHELOR!
Come up and celebrate with us like it’s 1958! Wednesday, December 19th marks Mt. Bachelor’s 60th birthday, and we are celebrating with some shocking throwback deals.
To honor our lift ticket prices from 1958, we will offer $3 lift tickets to ride Red Chair, which serves some of the same original ski terrain as when the mountain opened. All Red Chair ticket proceeds will go to Protect Our Winters and on-mountain sustainability initiatives. If you buy a Red Chair ticket, you will be automatically entered into a raffle to win some great prizes later in the afternoon. Season passes and other ordinarily-valid lift tickets will still be valid on Red Chair, but if you want to enter the raffle, we invite you to stop by the ticket office and purchase a $3 souvenir sticky-back lift ticket.
Make sure to swing into West Village Lodge to get some deliciously inexpensive food items to replicate what our prices were like when we opened in 1958. We’ll also have some great old school drink specials going on at Clearing Rock Bar. And we’ll be popping bottles at 3 p.m. for a toast and some birthday cake. You won’t want to miss this.

As for the weather and snow conditions on Wednesday, it should be an amazing day on the mountain. Fresh new snow awaits with diminishing wind and a break from the recent storminess. It is important to remember that even though the terrain may look inviting and skiable, hazards still exist just below the snow surface and we want to make sure all terrain is safe prior to its opening. Be safe in new snow: Read more about tree well and snow immersion hazards.
