Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
It’s the final week of our 2017-18 ski and snowboard season and the conditions are especially spring-like with soft snow and mild temps. Overcast skies this morning and the clouds will likely stick around for the day. As a reminder, you might have your OnePass sitting in a winter coat pocket; don’t forget to take it out and bring it with you to the mountain. We don’t want you to waste any ski time by having to pick up a replacement pass.
While the groomed areas remain in relatively good shape for this time of year, bare patches and lava rock are increasingly revealing themselves on the mountain. Consequently, the hike to the Summit peak is now closed for the season. We realize the peak hike is a closing day tradition, but the amount of exposed rock has pinched-off most of the ski routes down from the top. There is still plenty of fun intermediate and advanced terrain to explore elsewhere across the mountain, so long as you carefully watch for obstacles.
We’re open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through Sunday, May 27. Our Finale Weekend, May 26-27, will be a big party with 10 Barrel Brewing, live music, stein hoisting, pond skimming, skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking both days. Make plans to celebrate with us at the Board, Bike & Brew Festival to conclude our 2017-18 winter season!
