Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
The calendar says spring, but winter is making a comeback this weekend. After some wet weather overnight, the forecast models indicate sharply colder air arriving this morning – ushered-in by some very strong winds. Lift operations will likely be affected; it could even be one of those days when it’s too windy for Pine Marten and Skyliner lifts. As always, we’ll assess the situation on an ongoing basis and announce changes in lift status as soon as possible.
The good news is that significant snow is in the forecast from this afternoon all through Sunday. So if conditions look unappealing at first light this morning, they are expected to improve in the afternoon with fresh snow… and Sunday looks to be a winter-like powder day.
Once you get here, stop by Gravity Sports in the Mountain Gateway building at West Village where our spring sale is underway. On special this weekend: Homeschool outerwear and underlayers are on sale for 40% off! This deal ends on Sunday.
Finally, as you plan your visit to the mountain, note the following spring operational changes that are in effect:
Sunrise Lodge and parking are closed for the season. We had planned to open the Sun Bar on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but inclement weather will keep the Sun Bar closed today. Standby for its Sunday status. It’s also scheduled to operate next Friday, Saturday & Sunday (weather permitting).
Rainbow and Carrousel Chairs are closed for the season. Beginner terrain is available from the Sunshine Accelerator lift at West Village.
Please see the updated spring shuttle schedule if you plan to take the bus to the mountain.
