Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Old Man Winter blasting us with another major storm off the Pacific. Heavy snow, strong winds and very challenging operating conditions this morning. Plenty of pow for the hearty. Be sure to check this page frequently for up to the minute updates on terrain and lift openings. Due to the challenging conditions, we’ve decided to cancel the multi-week kids lesson programs this weekend. The USASA Slopestyle event is also canceled. Look for rescheduling announcements in the coming days.
This is a great time to check your knowledge of deep snow safety and tree well hazards. Always ski or ride with a buddy in eyesight and take extra caution while skiing or riding in the trees. It will be a challenge on the roads and in the parking lots as well, so please come properly equipped for winter driving with a high clearance 4WD or AWD vehicle. The full arsenal of snow removal equipment and personnel will be working all night and into the morning, but when a blizzard is underway, much of their work gets continuously erased by the sideways-blowing snow. Even though Mother Nature is affecting our operations this weekend, we are getting the snow to keep our season alive & well and we are definitely looking forward to more powder turns.
