Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
The new snow last night did wonders for the mountain. Since it was on the heavier side, it filled in the thin spots around the base areas while the upper half of the mountain was riding like a true Cascades powder day. The re-opening of Outback chair was an awesome treat, and really opened up the variety of terrain options to explore. Tomorrow looks like a phenomenal day to come ride, with temperatures forecasted to be in the upper 30’s, light winds, and mostly sunny skies. It will be an eventful weekend up here at the mountain with great skiing, fun events and endless mountain views, come get it!
Great news – we’re planning to open Summit on Saturday. It may not be first thing in the morning, as patrol and lift maintenance must finish some of their critical activities. Once Summit opens, skiing and riding will be confined to the groomed Bev Hills run and the Healy Heights area. Other areas, including the Bowl, the Backside and Cow’s Face, will be closed. Please respect all signage and do not enter a closed area.
Remember that low-snow conditions still exist across the mountain. Adjust your speed appropriately to maintain a safe halo from other guests and watch for obstacles. Some will be marked, others not. We recommend skiing/riding only on groomed runs until the snow base deepens.
It’s the MLK holiday weekend, and for those of you with 12 Day and 4 Day Passes, remember that Saturday and Sunday are two of the 11 exclusion dates of use for those products this winter. MLK Monday is not a blackout day and we hope you can join us that day.
It will be an exciting weekend on the mountain and in Bend with sunshine in the forecast and several events planned:
Friday, January 12: Apres Ski Bash at Crow’s Feet Commons and Mt. Bachelor Riverhouse Jazz
Saturday, January 13: Crow’s Feet Ski-Mo Rally , USASA Rail Jam and Mt. Bachelor Riverhouse Jazz
Sunday, January 14: 10 Barrel’s Goggle Tan Tour
