Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
We’ve made it to the final weekend of 2017 and no better way than to make some turns on Mt. Bachelor. Despite a bit of wet weather overnight our snowpack is in pretty good shape and groomers will be the place to be this morning. Our mountain crews were able to lay down some of that fantastic corduroy on over 30 runs, ready for those long carving turns. Expect cloudy skies and temps in the mid 30s, forecasts call for a colder air mass to move in and snow to return to the mountain at some point later today. We do have some blustery conditions with strong gusts that have the potential to affect our lifts operations this morning, we’ll keep you posted on those. It will be hustling and bustling up here today, get an early start with breakfast at Cocoa’s Café and we’ll see you on the hill.
Tips for Holiday Visitors
Arrive early to enjoy the most time on the snow. Breakfast starts in West Village Lodge at 7:30 a.m. and our Mountain Gateway ticket sales center at West Village opens at 8:00 a.m. Come up early, beat the traffic, get a close-in parking spot, enjoy breakfast and load the chair right at opening time.
Consider eating lunch at our mid-mountain Pine Marten Lodge. It’s the largest lodge at Mt. Bachelor with the most seats & tables. Two restaurants and an espresso shop serve traditional American fare, Mexican specialties and quick snacks. And if the sun makes an appearance the scenic vistas of the Cascade volcanoes are spectacular from the 7,800 ft. vantage point. For the fastest service and most elbow room in each of our restaurants, plan to eat before 11:30 a.m. or after 1:30 p.m.
If you’re interested in taking ski or snowboard lesson to improve your skills with one of our professional coaches, you’ll want to start your day at West Village – our primary base area. Our lesson programs are exclusively headquartered here during the holiday period.
Parking is free at Mt. Bachelor, but some premium close-in parking spaces are available for $20 at West Village. Look for the signs directing you towards PAY PARKING as you enter the West Village parking area.
