Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Tons of new snow! Finally. We have picked up 11 inches of dry and light snow overnight and it’s still dumping. Today is going to be one of those days you don’t want to miss. We are continuing to forecast snowfall through this afternoon which will set up the opening of Cloudchaser tomorrow. With this new snow, remember that there will be hazards buried underneath the powder, so take it easy exploring off trail options and keep an eye out for each other. Also, Click Here for a refresher on tree well safety information. It’s going to be a great couple days of classic Mt. Bachelor storm riding, so come prepared for winter driving conditions, slow down and be safe out there.
Attention RV owners: With the holidays approaching along with the first significant snow after a long dry spell, we will be closing our parking lot to RVs. This rare closure will allow our snow removal team to completely clear the parking lot of new snow during Tuesday night’s storm. We will also take the opportunity to set up a better-organized RV parking zone (in the same general location as the current zone). RVs are welcome to return starting at 4:00 p.m. today, December 20th. Thanks for understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.
All of our base area facilities, services and parking areas are now open for the season. New this year, lessons are headquartered at West Village, so plan to start your day at our primary base area if you’d like to improve your skiing or snowboarding skills with one of our professional coaches.
And… perhaps the best news… we’re moving forward with plans to open Cloudchaser lift tomorrow, December 21. It’s perfect timing with all the new snow in the forecast by tomorrow morning!
