Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Attention RV owners: With the holidays approaching along with the first significant snow after a long dry spell, we will be closing our parking lot to all vehicles – including RVs – at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. This rare closure will allow our snow removal team to completely clear the parking lot of new snow during Tuesday night’s storm. We will also take the opportunity to set up a better-organized RV parking zone (in the same general location as the current zone). RVs are welcome to return starting at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19. Thanks for understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.
Today turned out to be a great day out on the hill. The groomers softened nicely as the day progressed and made for some enjoyable carving. Just in time for the holidays, we have a significant storm system developing and it will be arriving around noon on Tuesday. The weather pattern is predicting cold, dry snow that could be deep in places, especially with wind transport. As we get ready for the storm, it is important to remember that coverage is thin in places and there will be hidden hazards under the powder that you may not be able to see. So don’t risk it by going too far off trail, and keep an eye out for each other while you’re riding. Also, if this storm delivers as it should, tree wells will be hazards. Click Here for more information about tree well safety. We’re finally back in the storm cycle and we couldn’t be happier! Get the POW sticks out and your hands ready for a whole bunch of high fives!
All of our base area facilities, services and parking areas are now open for the season. New this year, lessons are headquartered at West Village, so plan to start your day at our primary base area if you’d like to improve your skiing or snowboarding skills with one of our professional coaches.
And… perhaps the best news… we’re moving forward with plans to open Cloudchaser lift on Thursday, December 21. It’s perfect timing with all the new snow in the forecast by Thursday morning!
