Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
It’s hard to beat a true spring day on the slopes! A hefty dose of sunshine accompanied by a warm breeze and incredible mountain views made slashing that soft corn snow all the better today. Similar story weather-wise for Saturday, with the exception of a few more clouds overhead. Temps are expected to stay well above freezing overnight, so trails should be soft right off the bat. Whether you prefer laying down a sweeping carve on the groomers or plowing through those spring mashed potatoes, we still have over 2,000 acres of terrain open for shredding, so you can have it all.
Also on deck for Saturday, be sure to cheer on competitors as we host the annual Pole Pedal Paddle relay race. Due to the event, we’re opening Pine Marten and Skyliner lifts at 8:00 a.m. to all guests! Similarly, West Village ticketing and services will also open earlier at 7:30 a.m. Keep in mind that Century Drive will be closed to downhill traffic from approximately 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and anyone traveling back to Bend at that time will be rerouted through Sunriver. Good luck, PPPer’s!!
The Summit backside and the lower Northwest, Outback and Cloudchaser areas are no longer accessible, though there is still ample skiable terrain – including Cow’s Face down to the Sunrise Getback (to Skyliner lift) and the upper Northwest area from Summit-top to the “21 Road” (to West Village). Be aware of adjusted ski area boundaries and significant cut-banks off the “21 Road”. Please do not enter any closed areas.
We’re open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through Sunday, May 28. Spring lift ticket prices are in effect. As a general reminder, our beginner areas are closed for the season, so all skiers and snowboarders should feel comfortable riding the more-difficult “blue square” terrain in order to enjoy their day on the snow. View our Springtacular page to read more about what’s open this spring.
Looking ahead to our Finale Weekend, we hope you can join us May 27-28 for a season-ending celebration. The BrewSki beer festival is on tap both days, while the North American Pond Skimming Championships takes place on Sunday, May 28. Participation in the pond skim is limited to the first 100 entrants. Sign up now to reserve your chance to win a 2017-18 Full Season Pass!
