Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Chilly, socked in and lightly snowing to start the day. We received an inch dusting overnight, bringing our total since Monday to a foot of powder. This week’s band of precipitation has been faithfully accompanied by cold, deep-winter temperatures resulting in unbelievably light and dry powdery fluff on the slopes. Thursday it seemed to be snowing a bit harder at mid-mountain, and with winds shifting this airy snow around, you can expect to find substantially deeper stashes of pow. Forecast calls for passing snow showers throughout the day, tapering off by this evening. Winds should remain mild and temps are not projected to break a high of 30 degrees for today.
Snow or sun, Springtacular is here! We have a full slate of wildly fun spring events and music on tap from here on out, and the lineup for this weekend will be no exception. First up, join us for the Battle for Bachelor Rail Jam on Saturday, April 15th in the events arena off Pine Marten. Registration is open and FREE to all you park rats that want to show off those mad jibbin’ skills! For Easter Sunday, those with little ones should grab their baskets and join us in the West Village base area where our favorite ski bunny will be hoppin’ around hosting an Easter Egg Hunt. As for the rest of you, better bring that lucky rabbit’s foot because we’re holding our annual Easter Keg Hunt where you’ll have the chance to sniff out a mini keg from Deschutes Brewery that’s hidden somewhere in all that pow. One winner takes all. You won’t want to miss out on the ultimate quest of the season!
A reminder that the roads and parking lots are considerably slippery as you approach the mountain; conditions will be challenging throughout this storm cycle. Come prepared for variable road conditions by driving a properly equipped vehicle, but more importantly, please take your time.
