Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
RIght on schedule, our weekend storm has arrived and has already laid an inch on the mountain this afternoon. Our latest blast will be with us throughout the weekend with significant totals piling up on the snowstake. Storm riding the Mt. Bachelor way on Saturday with periods of snow, possibly heavy at times, the potential for blustery winds and lots of untracked pow. Expect to see a variety of snow conditions on the mountain – from deep wind-blown drifts to sections that have been scoured of any new snow, be prepared for it all. Tree wells are always a factor but even more so during and after a storm. Please educate yourself on tree well safety and ALWAYS ski or ride with a partner in the trees. Tomorrow will be a busy one, get an early start.
Lots of fun on the mountain this weekend. We have the USASA Halfpipe event for snowboarders and freeskiers of all ages and abilities on Saturday at the halfpipe. Come check it out.
We’ve expanded our carpooling and now have more spots to offer those with 4 or more in a vehicle. Carpoolers get Free Preferred Parking and with more spots available, it is a great way to beat the morning rush. We have a busy weekend ahead, getting a jump on everybody to first chair begins with a hot breakfast in Cocoa’s Café starting at 7:30 a.m.
It is always a good idea to take it easy on the roads. With the wide range of weather conditions on the drive up, the roads can be challenging if you are not properly equipped for winter mountain driving. Afternoon snow totals will also make it a challenge to get out of the parking lots when your day on the mountain is over. Plan ahead, get an early start, be patient and most importantly, enjoy yourself when you get here!
