Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Being that it’s a holiday, you can expect to see a bit more traffic on the roads as well as on the mountain. Consider carpooling or taking the Mount Bachelor Shuttle to minimize congestion on the roads. Carpoolers with 4 or more in a vehicle get preferred parking in West Village lot while spots last! Get an early start and beat the rush – we offer breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Cocoa’s Cafe so you can enjoy a hot, hearty meal slopeside before grabbing that first chair. And in even better news, 12-pack and 4-pack pass-holders welcome to use their passes Monday… just in time for another round of powder.
Finally, few words of caution – roads are slippery and significantly snow covered, please come prepared for winter storm conditions with a properly equipped vehicle. Plan ahead and take your time – the snow will still be here. Keep in mind that tree wells are always a factor, but even more so during a storm. Please educate yourself on tree well safety an always ski/ride with a partner in the trees.
A note about “Lift Drip”
With snow in the forecast along with temperatures between 26 and 32 degrees, these types of days are when “lift drip” can occur. Lift drip results when water mixes with dirt and cinder that accumulates in the haul ropes and lift components. We see this problem on our staff’s uniforms and have had good results with stain removers like Shout Advanced Action Gel. Check the tags on your clothing for specific instructions about your gear.
