Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Friday was a storm day here at Mt. Bachelor and we look for a repeat performance on Saturday. Today’s snowfall added to our epic January snowpack and the forecast calls for more snow throughout the weekend. Untracked pow and miles of soft corduroy are the plan for tomorrow. Our entire lower mountain was operating on Friday and weather permitting, we should have our lifts from Cloudchaser over to Northwest on the schedule for Saturday.
Expect to see a variety of snow conditions on the mountain – from deep wind-blown drifts to sections that have been scoured of any new snow, be prepared for it all. Tree wells are always a factor but even more so during a storm. Please educate yourself on tree well safety and ALWAYS ski or ride with a partner in the trees
We have a busy weekend ahead, get an early start to your day with breakfast in Cocoa’s Café starting at 7:30 a.m. Carpooling, with 4 or more in a vehicle, is another great way to beat the morning rush. Carpoolers get free preferred parking when available.
The USASA Slopestyle will be going on in the events arena on Saturday. Open to freeskiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities, come sign up and join in on the fun..
It is always a good idea to take it easy on the roads. With the wide range of weather conditions on the drive up, the roads can be challenging if you are not properly equipped for winter mountain driving. Plan ahead, get an early start, and most importantly, take your time. Have fun and enjoy Mt. Bachelor.
