Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
After a glorious day up here on the mountain, we look to another holiday weekend and more great skiing and boarding on Mt. Bachelor. The forecast for Saturday is very inviting with mostly sunny skies and temps warming into the mid 20s. If you like miles of groomed corduroy, tomorrow will be your day. You might even find some hidden treasure in the trees if you know where to look. Even though the big storm happened earlier in the week the snow off piste is potentially deep and we always recommend skiing and riding with a partner.
On weekends, carpoolers with 4 or more in a vehicle get free preferred parking when spots are available. Get a jump on the morning rush and grab a hot breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. in Cocoa’s Café and then beat everybody to first chair. Mountain Gateway tickets, rentals and lesson sign-ups open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday; take advantage and get signed up early in the morning.
Lots of fun on and off the mountain this weekend. Join us at Crow’s Feet Commons in Bend, Friday night from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for the Downtown Apres Ski Bash #2.
We have the USASA Slalom and Giant Slalom event for snowboarders and freeskiers of all ages and abilities on Saturday in our Events Arena. Come check it out. We also have the SnoPlanks Demo Day going on over at our Skyliner Parking on Saturday. The 14th Annual Mike Puddy Memorial Race is also taking place Saturday on Cliffhanger run. This family friendly race is open to everyone; register between 9:30 and 10:30 Saturday morning inside the Junior Race Center.
Finally, in town, Mt. Bachelor Riverhouse Jazz returns this weekend with Friday and Saturday concerts.
It is going to be a fantastic MLK Holiday on the mountain. We look forward to seeing all of you up here.
