Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
The sun made an appearance this afternoon as this small weather system moved out of the area. Saturday is looking fabulous and what better way to say goodbye to 2016 than a day at Mt. Bachelor. We should have mostly sunny skies with a full slate of groomed trails. If the forecast holds up, we should have our entire mountain, 360 degrees of riding from the top, ready to go Saturday morning.
It will be busy tomorrow, on the roads, in the parking lots and inside our lodges. But if you follow these plans, it’s more likely that you’ll have a positive and fun experience:
Leave Bend/Sunriver by 7:15 a.m. You’ll get the best parking spot, be near the front of the line for tickets or rentals, and ready to hit the slopes when lifts start loading at 9:00 a.m.
We offer breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. at Cocoa’s Cafe in West Village Lodge. Beat the morning rush, enjoy a hearty meal and be among the first in line for tickets or tracks. As for lunch, keep in mind that we have two restaurants at our mid-mountain Pine Marten Lodge. Better yet, just wait out the rush and refuel after 2:00 p.m.
Our parking lots can fill to capacity on the busiest days. Once our lots are full, we have no other choice but to turn people away. Again, those who arrive early won’t be faced with this potential situation. Please carpool or consider taking the Mt Bachelor Shuttle from Bend to help minimize congestion both on the roads and in the parking lots.
Be mindful and aware of heavier traffic on the slopes, and practice patience and kindness in the lines…’tis the season after all! We’re stoked we are able to share this experience with you and we look forward to hosting you as we head towards the New Year!
