Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Today was a great way to wrap up a historical weekend at Mt. Bachelor! A beautiful break in weather gave us the perfect window to open our upper mountain lifts, and now we are 100% open as long as weather permits. And with our newest lift, Cloudchaser, having made its’ debut this weekend, we now boast an additional 635 acres of new terrain…making the 360-degree accessible choices from the top of Summit all the more gratifying. The forecast calls for cloudy skies and mild temps before light snowfall and storm conditions trickle in early afternoon; we won’t be expecting to see much accumulation until Tuesday. Monday we will be hosting the Russ Read Memorial Race on Cliffhanger run, please be advised that access will be limited to event participants.
The shred-worthy possibilities coming off Cloudchaser are exciting and intriguing, we know everyone wants to find that untouched line, however, keep in mind that this new terrain is just that – new. It takes time to learn an area’s fall lines and flats, so for now play it safe and refrain from wandering too far off-piste. Treat the trees with respect – have a buddy, a pocket snack, and a charged cell phone in case deep snow sneaks up on you!
In our base areas, we’re in full operation. All parking lots, restaurants, services and activities are open daily. From now until January 1st, the Snowblast tubing park will also be open everyday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Don’t forget to join us early for breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. at Cocoa’s Cafe in West Village Lodge. Beat the morning rush, enjoy a hearty meal and be among the first in line for fresh tracks when the lifts open at 9:00 a.m. Then, at lunchtime, we recommend grabbing a bite at our mid-mountain Pine Marten Lodge, where seating is plentiful and the clear-day views are unmatched. Scapolo’s, on the main level, offers Italian specialties while Sparks Cafe serves up traditional grilled items and a Mexican menu on the upper floor.
It’s been one of the best starts to any winter season in recent memory at Mt. Bachelor. Come on up and experience it for yourself!
