Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Summit lift is now open for the season… meaning that Mt. Bachelor is 100% open whenever the weather permits! We’ve had nearly 170″ of snowfall, our current base depth ranges from 6 to 9 feet, Cloudchaser – our newest lift – and 635 acres of new terrain are now open, and Summit lift – accessing 360 degrees of choices off the top – are all ready and waiting for you.
Sunday looks like a mostly sunny and comfortable day. It won’t be as cold as recent days, but you’ll still want to bundle up and dress in warm layers. So long as the forecast holds, Summit should be a go. Also on Sunday, we’re hosting a USASA Rail Jam near the base of Pine Marten lift and the Russ Read Memorial Race on Cliffhanger run. Thank you in advance for respecting these event areas where access will be limited to event participants.
In our base areas, we’re in full operation. All parking lots, restaurants, services and activities are open daily. We invite you to join us early for breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. at Cocoa’s Cafe in West Village Lodge. Beat the morning rush, enjoy a hearty meal and be among the first in line for fresh tracks when the lifts open at 9:00 a.m. Then, at lunchtime, we recommend eating lunch at our mid-mountain Pine Marten Lodge, where seating is plentiful and the clear-day views are unmatched. Scapolo’s, on the main level, offers Italian specialties while Sparks Cafe serves up traditional grilled items and a Mexican menu on the upper floor.
Finally, please consider carpooling to the mountain. Cars that arrive with four or more people get preferred parking at West Village (while space lasts). Let’s work together to reduce traffic on Century Drive.
It’s been one of the best starts to any winter season in recent memory at Mt. Bachelor. Come on up and experience it for yourself!
