Conditions Report: Wednesday, December 14th 2016, 6:03 am

Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:

Hump day tomorrow? More like DUMP DAY! Our break in weather didn’t last long as this week’s projected storm front is coming in earlier than was originally predicted. Precipitation should start early Wednesday morning, falling hard and fast throughout the day. Lucky for us, today’s cold weather helped preserve our snowpack so this fresh delivery will have a great base to rest on. Time to gear up for some serious accumulation!

We’re stoked we were able to open Northwest Express today. The snow is deep over there and will grow increasingly deeper, not only in the West Bowls, but all throughout the mountain. It is critical that you SKI OR RIDE WITH A PARTNER!! Keep each other in sight at all times – the tree wells are unforgiving and potentially fatal. Be smart, be respectful of our signage and staff, and have fun!

We’ll be in deep storm mode again tomorrow, so be prepared for deep snow conditions – on the mountain and on the roads. A vehicle properly equipped for winter driving conditions is essential, as are patience and safe driving practices. Sounds like a good day to get up here early, beat the crowds and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Cocoa’s Café starting at 7:30 a.m. From here on out all of our base facilities and services will be open, with Sunrise Lodge and parking opening for the season tomorrow.

Finally, we invite you to celebrate with us this weekend as we debut Cloudchaser, our newest high-speed quad lift and 635 acres of new terrain. The lift is scheduled to open following a Grand Opening Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16. Enter to win our First Chair contest on our Facebook page!

The snow conditions have been amazing and there’s no end in sight to this awesome start to winter. We look forward to seeing you soon at Mt. Bachelor!
