Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Whew – it was real nice out there today, folks! Creamy, soft, powdery goodness on every turn and it’s only going to get better. Today’s storm front was slow to roll in, but now it’s in full swing and snow is forecasted to fall slowly and steadily through the night into Tuesday morning. Powder turns trump the office any day, but tomorrow that will be especially true. Be sure to check back here at 6:15 a.m. to find out the latest on the storm and mountain operations. Hope we see you up here for another round of powder!
We’re serving breakfast in Cocoa’s Cafe starting at 7:30 a.m. daily this season. With Tuesday looking like a killer day to catch that first chair, it’d be a good idea to get up here early and get a hearty breakfast in first.
While all the new snow has our stoke levels high, please be aware that early season conditions exist on the mountain – and on the roads. Watch for marked and unmarked hazards when skiing/riding and remember that everyone’s winter driving skills are a little rusty. It’s never a bad idea to slow your roll…the snow will still be here.
ADDITIONAL LIFT & TERRAIN OPENINGS – The Sunrise and Outback lifts are scheduled to open for the season no later than Saturday. We have crews prepping both areas. The Sunrise side would ordinarily be open by now, but several runs are torn apart by access roads associated with lift construction work. We’ll put them back together this week as heavy construction winds down. On the west side, we have grooming machines moving the snow around to where we need it. Crews are also building the lift loading & unloading ramps. You might notice Outback lift spinning from time to time – it’s part of the preparation process. In the meantime, please obey all closure signs. Marshmallow & lower Avalanche are closed; please do not cross below the West Village Getback into the Marshmallow area. Father west, all terrain west of Leeway is closed until Outback opens.
Thanks for your patience… keep thinking snow… and we look forward to seeing you soon.
