Good morning shredders! Here is your daily dose of Mt. Bachelor conditions:
Mt. Bachelor’s 2016-2017 winter season is on! Great news – we’re ready to add the Pine Marten and Skyliner lifts to the schedule today. They’ll join Sunshine Accelerator and Red Chair. (View lift ticket prices.) It could be blustery at times today, so there is a chance that some lifts may run slower than normal or go on wind hold. Check this page frequently as lift status is always displayed in real-time.
We’ll be totally honest; the snowpack is very thin. Our grooming team is working their magic, but hazards are just below the snow surface. Stay on the groomed runs for now. Better safe than sorry.
Note that our snow base isn’t deep enough yet to place the usual rope posts at our lift bottom terminals. The line queue may end up being more “European style” as a result. We’re doing our best to level out the “hilly” areas, too, but the real solution is more snow. Fortunately, it’s in the forecast.
Finally, a word about hiking. Our winter Uphill Travel Policy is in effect, meaning that you can hike the Cone, but all other areas of Mt. Bachelor are closed to uphill travel. Thanks for your cooperation and respect for everyone’s safety.
We’re stoked that our winter season is underway. Lifts are turning, the Nordic Center is open, Snowblast Tubing Park is open for walk-up tubing and all of our West Village base area services are open & available to you. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and the sales center & season pass desk open at 8:00. Skyliner parking lot starts its season Saturday as well for those of you who already have a ticket or pass in-hand. Winter is on. Welcome back. Join us for some early season turns.
